Gladstone City Library hosts a special children's book reading and craft session with Constable Dom and The Quiet Chapter for Child Protection Week.
This page is for the session on Wednesday, 9 September 2026.

We are joined this week by special guests Constable Dom from the Gladstone Police Station and Tanya Gill from the Quiet Chapter. Join The Quiet Chapter and Constable Dom for a special children’s book reading and creative craft session celebrating Child Protection Week and this year’s theme, “Protecting Children is Everybody’s Business.” Children will enjoy a story that gently explores safety, support and the importance of feeling heard and cared for. After the reading, they can take part in a fun, age-appropriate craft activity designed to encourage creativity and conversation. Each child will also receive a calming journal pack to take home to support quiet moments, self-expression and emotional wellbeing. This welcoming session is designed to help children feel safe, valued and connected while learning that everyone has a role to play in protecting children. Parents and carers are encouraged to attend and participate alongside their child. First 5 Forever is an initiative of the Queensland Government, coordinated by State Library of Queensland and delivered in partnership with local government.
